SILENT HILL: Townfall is available now. Konami’s 24 September 2026 “Releases Today” post confirms day-and-date availability on PlayStation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. Softcap’s first Townfall desk piece sticks to that launch primary, the US pre-order frame (2 June 2026), the official Townfall site, Annapurna’s product page, and the live Steam store sheet. Softcap is not inventing playtime, ending counts beyond “multiple endings,” or review scores.

Primary spine: first full-length first-person SILENT HILL, St. Amelia / Scotland 1996, protagonist Simon Ordell, the CRTV pocket television as the series radio’s successor, stealth-and-combat framing from publisher copy, and the Standard / Deluxe bonus sheet Konami published for launch day.

What Konami says ships today

The Windsor launch wire frames Townfall as the first psychological-horror title in the SILENT HILL series to use a fully first-person perspective. Players begin as Simon Ordell, “an outsider who has washed onto the icy-cold marina of St. Amelia,” a remote island off the Scottish coast. The town sits under “deep fog and silence,” with “presence of those who once lived there” and “fragments of memory” blurring reality and fiction.

Steam’s About block — the same publisher spine Annapurna mirrors — adds the gameplay verbs Softcap can cite without a play report:

  • Explore, evade, and survive with a limited set of weapons and tools.
  • Tune the CRTV into unstable analog signals for threats, story fragments, and clues.
  • Evasion is tense; combat is frenetic; narrative-driven puzzles surface a truth that “refuses to stay submerged.”
  • Setting line: full-length, self-contained psychological horror against the “cold, isolated backdrop of Scotland, 1996.”

Systems Softcap can cite from storefront copy

Konami and Steam do not publish a numbered patch sheet for day one. They do publish the mechanical pillars Softcap treats as confirmed marketing systems — not Softcap-tested TTKs.

CRTV — radio successor

Steam: the iconic SILENT HILL radio returns as the CRTV, a portable television. Nearby threats, story fragments, and mysterious clues drift through unstable signals players pick up by tuning. Narrative puzzles tied to those fragments let players “relive past events and catch glimpses of everyday life in town.”

Stealth and combat

Storefront copy lists three engagement lanes Softcap will not expand beyond published language:

LanePublished framing
MeleeSwing and block in “frenetic melee combat”
FirearmsKeep distance and survive at range
StealthSneak from cover; lure threats with distractions

First-person framing is pitched as limited visibility and “heightened sense of proximity to danger,” so stealth, combat, exploration, and the CRTV feel “intimate, close and terrifying.”

Multiple endings + Pilotpriest score

Steam confirms endings shaped by the player’s actions, and a fully dynamic soundtrack by Pilotpriest that “builds and twists with player and enemy actions.” Softcap is not inventorying ending names or track lists beyond that line.

Editions and launch bonuses

Konami’s launch post and Steam’s buy sheet align on two digital SKUs Softcap can price from Steam USD:

EditionSteam list (USD)Published contents
Standard$49.99Full game
Deluxe$59.99Full game · Bonus Application (digital artbook + soundtrack) · Simon’s Outfit: Alternate

Standard early-purchase / pre-order cosmetics (Konami launch wire):

  • CRTV Style: Rusted
  • CRTV Style: Beach Edition (PlayStation 5 exclusive)

Deluxe (+ pre-order) extras (same wire):

  • Digital artbook and soundtrack (via Bonus Application on Steam)
  • Simon’s Outfit: Alternate
  • Pre-order window also listed 48-hour early access, plus the Rusted and Beach CRTV styles (Beach = PS5 exclusive)

Physical discs are PlayStation 5 only per Konami’s June US note. Softcap’s Amazon store link points at the live Day One Edition ASIN for that PS5 buy path; Softcap is not inventing disc region codes beyond what retailers list.

Who built it

Konami’s launch wire credits Screen Burn Interactive (Glasgow) as developer and Annapurna Interactive as co-publisher alongside KONAMI. The same post’s studio about-block notes Screen Burn’s earlier work as No Code — including Stories Untold (2017) and BAFTA-winning Observation (2019). Softcap treats that as publisher bio, not a review of those titles.

What Softcap is not saying

  • No Softcap spoiler walkthrough of St. Amelia’s plot beyond publisher loglines.
  • No invented patch version, day-one hotfix list, or concurrent-player chart.
  • No review score aggregation — this is a launch card from Confirmed primaries.
  • ESRB M (Violence, Blood, Strong Language) and PEGI 16 appear on Steam’s ratings block; Softcap does not expand descriptor prose beyond that storefront line.
