EA Sports FC 27’s worldwide launch window is here. On PC the full game opens at 23:00 UTC on 24 September 2026; on every other platform it opens at 00:00 regional time on 25 September. That same day, Football Ultimate Team drops Destined for Glory — the first post–Early Access Campaign, led by cover star Kylian Mbappé and a short list of community-voted attackers — while EA’s 14 September Launch Update Pitch Notes try to reset how Clubs actually grow: more tradeable rewards, steadier card pacing, higher post-match Coins and Season Points, and new systems (Gallery, Holographic Items, Streamlined SBCs, Hall of FUT) meant to keep matches and collections pulling in the same direction.

What follows covers the Pitch Notes end to end: key dates, every FUT pillar EA listed, Season 1 Campaigns, The Grounds, Career Mode Manager Live, and Career ICONs. Named new Base ICONs and Gallery Level milestone rewards below are taken from on-page graphics on the Launch Update itself; the Pitch Notes prose does not publish a Hall of FUT name list, Destined for Glory position-by-position upgrade thresholds, or Mini/Small/Large/Jumbo/Giant pack item counts, so those are not filled in here.

Football Ultimate Team: three ideas, one Club

EA frames FC 27 FUT around three stated aims: more choice in how you build (tradeables, Coins, balanced upgrade paths), preserving what makes Player Items feel distinct (fewer Campaigns, smaller squads, tighter Attribute and PlayStyle bumps), and making every eligible match move the Club forward (higher post-match Coins and Season Points).

More control: tradeability, Champions Tokens, TOTW Community Player, Store, packs

Tradeability and the Transfer Market. A significantly higher proportion of rewards across Objectives, game modes, and other FUT surfaces will be tradeable. EA’s pitch is Transfer Market flexibility: bid on Player Items, feed Evolutions, buy into the Premium Pass, or bank toward a later target.

Champions Token Rewards. Champions Tokens return from FUT 26’s summer run. They let you pick among reward options based on what the Club needs. The Champions Token Store is set to stock Champions-specific rewards, including Team of the Week Players with the exclusive Red Item design, Evolutions, and vanity rewards such as Celebrations.

TOTW Community Player. During Season 1, the community helps shape one player item in each of the first six Team of the Week squads. Voting opened 14 September; every player in the FC 27 Ratings Database is eligible. A new voting period starts each Tuesday. You vote for one player per week and can change the pick until Monday at 11:59pm PT. An EA Account login confirms the vote. Community votes inform the final selection; the chosen item carries a Community Player marker in-game.

Store balancing at launch. Fewer promotional Pack offers, lower user limits on certain offers, and additional Store offer-design changes. EA’s stated intent: Store content as an optional complement, with time on the pitch as the main Club-building path.

Rarity and Pack updates. The Common/Rare player distinction is gone. Pack naming is being standardized; Mini, Small, Large, Jumbo, and Giant indicate Pack size. EA says the overall pack-opening experience is meant to stay consistent year over year: Packs will no longer state a minimum number of Rare Items, but the likelihood of a base Player Item at OVR 82 and below is intended to match similar FC 26 Packs (as outlined in the FUT Deep Dive). Quick Sell values are being adjusted to the new Rarity system — Player Item Quick Sell values more closely aligned with previous Rare Player Item values; non-Player items get more consistent Quick Sell values across Rarities. The Pitch Notes prose does not list item counts under those Mini/Small/Large/Jumbo/Giant labels.

Meaningful Player Items: pacing, Campaigns, Evolutions, Chemistry, ICONs, Hall of FUT

Steadier upgrade pacing. Maximum PlayStyles+ drops from five to three. Attribute increases between Campaigns are reduced. Goal: items from SBCs, Evolutions, mode rewards, or Campaigns stay in squads longer.

Campaign Roles++. All Campaign Player Items launch with all of their position’s Roles++ unlocked, so formation and playstyle fitting is less gated.

More focused Campaign squads. Smaller Campaign squads, tighter Attribute and PlayStyle spreads, fewer Campaign Player Items. Destined for Glory — the first Campaign after Early Access — releases 15 players in the Campaign Squad each week. EA says there will generally be exceptions when broader representation fits a football moment, but smaller squads are the default. Across FC 27 there will be approximately five fewer Campaign weeks; those weeks become Series (themed periods such as TOTY Warm Up and TOTS Warm Up) with no new Special Items added to Packs. The first Series arrives in Season 3 in December.

Evolutions and Training Camp. Evolutions return as a core personalization path, tuned for lower frequency and more intentional release timing so Campaigns, SBCs, mode rewards, and Evolutions each keep a distinct role. Progression paths are more tailored, with positional and Attribute requirements meant to preserve identity. Training Camp Evolutions expand as accessible entry points for lower-rated players.

Chemistry. ICONs still get full Chemistry in position and a +1 League link to every League; Nation contribution falls from +2 to +1. Heroes still get full Chemistry in position; League contribution falls from +2 to +1; Nation stays +1. Hall of FUT Items follow Hero Chemistry rules. EA also says it will be more selective about boosted Chemistry on Campaign and other Special Items through the year.

ICONs and Heroes. EA is recalibrating the two tiers: ICONs as players who built trophy cabinets or sustained world-class careers; Heroes as players remembered for unforgettable moments, celebrated club or league spells, and lasting fan impact. Base ICONs now start at 88 OVR, with refreshed Attributes and PlayStyles. The Pitch Notes prose welcomes “the following new ICONs” and points to a graphic rather than a text list. The Launch Update’s new-ICONs graphic on the same page shows ten Base ICON items: Sinclair (92 ST), Rummenigge (90 ST), Formiga (90 CDM), Riise (90 CM), Heath (90 RW), Agüero (89 ST), Pepe (89 CB), Varane (88 CB), Nagasato (88 CAM), and White (88 ST).

Hall of FUT. New tier for players whose impact in EA Sports FC and FUT made them unforgettable — perfect links, standout performances, lasting squad memories. Base Hall of FUT Player Items are available throughout FC 27 through the Token Store; special Campaign versions begin appearing in Packs later in the year. Base Hall of FUT Items can be used in Evolutions when they meet the requirements. The Pitch Notes Hall of FUT promo graphic (alt text: eighteen throwback player cards) showcases the Base slate visually; the prose body does not publish a named roster.

Every game helps: post-match rewards and modes

Post Match Rewards. FUT Coins after matches in Rivals, Champions, and Squad Battles rise significantly. EA’s comparison: FC 26 typically paid roughly 500 to 600 FUT Coins per match; in FC 27, Champions and Rivals can reward several times more Coins, with Squad Battles also up. Eligible matches also pay 15 to 100 Season Points depending on result and mode, capped at 850 Season Points per day. Weekly rewards remain milestones; matches past those thresholds are still meant to progress the Club. EA says it will look, post-launch, at expanding post-match rewards further — including higher Divisions and additional reward types such as Tokens — based on feedback.

Mode roles. Rivals = ongoing weekly PvP. Champions = exclusive rewards. Squad Battles = flexible PvE. Live Events = rotating Campaign/Season-themed play.

Division Rivals. Clearer reward gaps between Divisions; Bounties return and appear more frequently (Weekly Reward Points or faster ladder movement); more FUT Coins; all Pack rewards tradeable at launch. Division 1 Upgraded Rewards example from the Pitch Notes:

  • 95,000 Coins
  • 4× 84+ Gold Players Pack
  • 5× 83+ Gold Players Pack
  • 1 of 5 83+ Gold Players
  • Giant Gold Pack (similar to FC26 Rare Mega Pack)
  • TOTW Player Pack

Champions. 15-match Champions Finals structure returns, with increased FUT Coin rewards vs FC 26. Champions Qualification Points (CQP) can now be earned through both Rivals and Squad Battles. The Division 6 requirement for Champions qualification is removed. Champions rewards will include more CQP. Higher Rivals Divisions still earn CQP faster, but Division no longer gates whether you can play toward qualification — enough CQP is enough.

Squad Battles. Still the flexible PvE lane for Objectives, Evolutions, and weekly rewards. Increased post-match FUT Coins and Season Points; now also awards CQP. Single Player Live Events sit alongside Squad Battles for Campaign- and Season-themed PvE.

Live Events. Online and Single Player Live Events rotate through the Season, tied to current Campaigns or Seasons via themed squads, entry requirements, and rewards. Tournaments, Gauntlets, and Exhibitions return alongside new Single Player Live Events. The Ultimate Gauntlet returns during Week 2 of Destined for Glory, beginning with two Rounds in Season 1.

Holographic Items. From Team of the Week 1, eligible Campaign, TOTW, Hero, ICON, and other special Player Items in the FUT Pack pool can also appear as Holographics:

  • 87 OVR and below → Regular Holographic
  • 88 OVR and above → Pristine Holographic

Eligible Holographics can appear in Store Packs and Reward Packs; the Transfer Market is another path. Packs or Player Picks that guarantee a fixed group of specific Player Items will not include Holographic versions. Fuller mechanical detail sits in the FC 27 FUT Deep Dive, which the Pitch Notes point to.

Streamlined SBCs and Item Score. New SBC format: contribute eligible Items toward a target score across multiple submissions, rather than building a full traditional squad. Available on console and PC at launch; Companion App release intended later in Season 1. Every Player Item has an Item Score from OVR, Rarity, and Holographic status — the same scoring used for Streamlined SBCs and Gallery. Each OVR has a base score; Rarity and Holographic bonuses stack (e.g. a Holographic TOTW Item gets both bonuses). EA says it will monitor Item Scores and give significant advance notice before any changes.

Gallery, Token Store, Gallery Level. Gallery is the low-pressure collection layer: build Sets around Clubs, Leagues, Rarities, and football stories; improve Grades over time; earn rewards at your own pace. Items contribute to Sets and remain in Gallery history even after they leave the Club, so an Item earned today can still matter to a Set that arrives later. Each Set rewards Club Customisation (Club-specific Crests and Kits); higher Grades award Gallery Tokens.

Gallery Tokens redeem in the Gallery Token Store for fandom- and Club-identity rewards. At launch, Base Hall of FUT Player Items are among the featured rewards. The Token Store is set to evolve with new Kits, Crests, Holographic rewards, and more.

Gallery Sets also feed overall Gallery Level. More than 100 Sets are available at launch — major men’s and women’s leagues and clubs, Rarity Sets such as Squad Foundations and Team of the Week, plus a Starter Set. Sets remain live for the duration of the game. New Sets arrive at certain moments, not every week or with every Campaign. When a new Set lands, eligible Items already in Gallery history can count toward it.

The Pitch Notes prose says Gallery Level carries larger rewards at key milestones and illustrates them with a rewards table graphic on the same page. That primary Gallery Level Rewards table lists:

The first post-launch Gallery Set arrives at Worldwide Launch: the Season 1 (Combined Rarities) Set, bringing together Ones to Watch, Destined for Glory, and Future Stars Player Items.

Season 1: Ones to Watch and launch content

Early Access content

During Early Access, EA lists:

  • Team of the Week 1 & 2
  • Ones to Watch Themed Player SBCs
  • Challenge and Upgrade SBCs
  • Evolutions
  • Squad Foundations
  • Opportunities to Earn Season Points

Ones to Watch (17 September–22 October 2026)

Season 1’s theme ties Ones to Watch, Destined for Glory, and Future Stars around players ready to mark the new football season. EA also teases later Seasons built around nostalgia, football heritage, and cult football eras. Ones to Watch runs Thursday 17 September 2026 to Thursday 22 October 2026. Earn Ones to Watch Player Items through the Season Pass; select players also via SBCs and Objectives from Early Access.

OVR and Role rules. Ones to Watch Items rated 83 OVR or higher retain Base Item Attributes; those below are boosted to 83. Every Ones to Watch Item is guaranteed at least 60 Pace and has all Role++ in Position.

Upgrade rules. Items remain eligible for upgrades throughout the football season. They receive +1 OVR for each Team of the Week, Star Performer, or Player of the Month inclusion, plus a one-time +1 OVR if their club wins three of its next six domestic league matches after 18 September.

Ones We Watched — Single Player Live Events

Season 1 opens with a Single Player Live Event series celebrating Ones to Watch from FUT 18, FUT 19, and FUT 20. Choose difficulty for the opening stage and play a collection of Clubs across world football, then face progressively higher-OVR Ones We Watched–inspired AI squads and tougher squad-building requirements. Retro Cosmetic Evolutions inspired by those years are available through the Season Ladder and Evolution Store.

Destined for Glory (25 September)

On 25 September, Destined for Glory spotlights players the community voted to make a major impact this season — votes from EA Sports FC 26 FUT and the FC 27 Ratings Database. Led by FC 27 cover star Kylian Mbappé (most community votes), the first Destined for Glory Player Items also feature new Chelsea signing Morgan Rogers, new Tottenham Hotspur signing Matheus Fernandes, plus attackers Alexander Isak and Bryan Mbeumo.

Destined for Glory Items can earn upgrades throughout the entire football season starting from 18 September, based on real-world domestic-league performances, with milestones determined by the player’s position. The Pitch Notes do not publish those position-by-position thresholds in prose. Weekly Campaign Squad size for Destined for Glory is 15 players, as noted above. Ultimate Gauntlet returns in Week 2 of Destined for Glory (two Rounds in Season 1).

The Grounds

The Grounds is the new home of Clubs in FC 27, available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. League and Playoff matches and Rush return alongside new Club competition. Time in The Grounds develops your Pro.

Starting in Early Access and through Worldwide Launch, the first Club Tournament is a Classic Stadium 11v11 Event — new 11v11 competition with its own House Rules, entry requirements, Objectives, and rewards.

Archetypes, AXP, Grounds Coins, Amps

Archetypes remain central to Pro builds, with more freedom to experiment. Wherever you play — streets or stadium — you earn AXP and Grounds Coins. Limited-time Club Tournaments and Playoffs offer greater rewards. Objectives add another path: Cosmetic Items, AXP Consumables, and Grounds Coins among the rewards.

Amps refresh regularly for temporary build experiments (example EA gives: a Long Shots boost via a Standard Amp for a few games without rewriting the whole build). Player-themed Signature Amps combine Attributes, PlayStyles, and Signature Perks inspired by star players for a limited number of matches. Resetting a build does not cost Grounds Coins. At launch, Amps do not provide PlayStyle+, keeping the focus on experimentation while preserving gameplay balance.

Season 1 Grounds content

European Nights. Season 1 brings UEFA Champions League atmosphere to The Grounds; the world stays at dusk for Matchdays 2 and 3. Journey starts in the Districts: small-sided Live Events feed into the European Nights 11v11 Stadium Club Tournament with Clubmates and bigger rewards. Along the way: UEFA Champions League Player-Themed Amps inspired by champions including Zidane, Maldini, and Bale, plus exclusive Emotes, Club Kits, and more.

Screaming Grounds. Halloween-timed: darkness, pumpkin targets, Halloween-themed Live Events, fantastical Cosmetic Items (EA’s example language: superhero-esque costumes).

Stores. Boutique Montclair, Tienda Zeiza, and Parkside Store rotate fashion drops influenced by each District’s identity, streetwear, music, and local culture — including seasonal themes and collaborations with brands and clubs.

Career Mode

Manager Live returns with a fresh Challenge set at launch, plus Community Driven Challenges. Season 1 also brings Career ICONs to unlock and use across Career Mode.

Manager Live Challenges

EA lists Starter Challenges built around familiar Career beats — transfer-market navigation, early-Season momentum, big milestones — and names these examples:

  • Transfer Savvy — shrewd profit in the opening transfer window
  • Winning Start — undefeated in the opening weeks of the new League Season, winning at least three matches along the way
  • Top at Christmas — lead your league when Christmas arrives
  • Rio’s Rising — make 2026/27 the season Rio Ngumoha cements superstar status at Anfield

EA notes that is only some of the starting lineup; Manager Live will keep adding Challenges inspired by the football season.

Create and share Challenges. Players can create their own Challenges and share them with friends. EA also aims to feature Challenges created by Creators from the Career Community shortly after launch, and asks players to watch Manager Live for new Community Driven Challenges.

Season 1 Career ICONs

Season 1 Career Mode ICONs named in the Pitch Notes: Kaká, Antonio Di Natale, Alessandro Del Piero, Raúl, Robin van Persie.

Closing: Launch Rewards Pitch Notes still to come

EA closes the Launch Update by pointing players at feedback channels (FC Feedback / Player Feedback Portal, Discord, EA Forums, Steam Forums) and at the deeper Grounds, FUT, and Career Deep Dives. Stay tuned for more FC 27 Pitch Notes, including Launch Rewards Pitch Notes coming later this week, as EA stated.

Worldwide launch on PC is tonight’s 23:00 UTC clock. Consoles follow at regional midnight on the 25th. Destined for Glory and the Season 1 Combined Rarities Gallery Set are the same calendar day’s FUT headline. Everything else above is what EA put on the page before the servers open.
