FC 27 Destined for Glory: Mbappé-led FUT Campaign (25 Sep–9 Oct)
Football Ultimate Team’s first post–Early Access Campaign of EA Sports FC 27 is Destined for Glory. EA’s Ratings Pitch Notes set the window at 25 September through 9 October 2026. The Launch Update Pitch Notes put the Campaign on the same calendar day as worldwide launch for console players (00:00 regional time on 25 September; PC worldwide launch is 23:00 UTC on 24 September) and name cover star Kylian Mbappé — the player who received the most community votes — alongside four other confirmed first Destined for Glory Player Items.

EA states the Campaign runs from 25 September to 9 October and that Destined for Glory arrives “On 25 September.” The Launch Update and Ratings FAQ do not publish a specific pack or content drop hour for the first Destined for Glory Squad.
EA says Destined for Glory features 15 players in the Campaign Squad release each week. The published Campaign window is two calendar weeks. Those Pitch Notes pages do not print “two squads” or list Week 1 versus Week 2 rosters beyond the five named first Items.
What Destined for Glory is
Destined for Glory is a Live Football Ultimate Team Campaign: featured Player Items can keep earning upgrades across the football season based on real-world domestic-league performances. Selection was community-shaped. Votes came through the EA Sports FC 27 Ratings Database and, earlier, through FC 26 Ultimate Team surfaces tied to the same Campaign reveal.
EA’s Launch Update frames Destined for Glory as the first Campaign after Early Access and as the working example of FC 27’s smaller Campaign approach: fewer Campaign Player Items, a tighter Attribute and PlayStyle spread, and Roles++ unlocked across the Item’s position at launch for Campaign Items generally. Across the year EA plans approximately five fewer Campaign weeks; those weeks become Series (themed periods such as TOTY Warm Up and TOTS Warm Up) with no new Special Items added to Packs. The first Series arrives in Season 3 in December. Destined for Glory itself is a Campaign week block, not a Series.
Season 1’s wider theme ties Ones to Watch, Destined for Glory, and Future Stars around players ready to mark the new football season. Ones to Watch is the Season framing rarity that opened with Early Access; Destined for Glory is the first post–Early Access Campaign Squad cycle inside that Season.
Confirmed first Destined for Glory Player Items
The Launch Update Pitch Notes prose names five first Destined for Glory Player Items:

Live upgrades — tracking start and position milestones
What the prose states
Destined for Glory Player Items can earn upgrades throughout the entire football season, with tracking based on real-world performances in their domestic league starting from 18 September. Milestones are determined by the player’s position.
What the on-page graphics publish
The Launch Update does not print the numeric thresholds in body copy. It does publish two upgrade-table graphics on the same page. Both tables below are taken from those official on-page graphics:

The tables define what upgrades land at each milestone. They do not, on the graphics or in Launch Update prose, spell out whether clean sheets require the player to appear; whether goals and assists are domestic-league only in the same sense as the tracking sentence; goalkeeper thresholds (no goalkeeper row appears on either graphic); or how loans and transfers affect Destined for Glory Items. Ones to Watch carries an explicit transfer FAQ; Destined for Glory does not on these pages.
Weekly structure, Campaign Hub, and Live Events around the Campaign
Squad size. Destined for Glory releases 15 players in the Campaign Squad each week. EA says smaller Campaign squads are the general rule for FC 27, with exceptions when broader representation fits a football moment.
Campaign Hub. The FUT Deep Dive describes a Campaign Hub that gathers what is live for the current Campaign — Objectives, SBCs, Evolutions, Gallery Sets, Live Events — so players can see rewards and jump to relevant content. Destined for Glory is the first post–Early Access Campaign that Hub will be pointing at once the window opens.
Live Events. Online and Single Player Live Events rotate through the Season with themed squads, entry requirements, and rewards tied to current Campaigns or Seasons. Tournaments, Gauntlets, and Exhibitions return alongside new Single Player Live Events. Specifically for this Campaign: the Ultimate Gauntlet returns during Week 2 of Destined for Glory, beginning with two Rounds in Season 1.
Campaign Item rules that apply at Campaign level (Launch Update). All Campaign Player Items launch with all of their position’s Roles++ unlocked. Maximum PlayStyles+ on Items across the year drops from five to three, and Attribute increases between Campaigns are reduced — EA’s stated goal being steadier pacing so Campaign Items stay in squads longer. EA does not publish Destined for Glory pack odds, SBC prices, or Attribute spreads for these five Items on the Launch Update page.
How Destined for Glory sits next to Season 1 Ones to Watch
Ones to Watch is live from Thursday 17 September 2026 to Thursday 22 October 2026 — it opens before Destined for Glory and outlasts the Campaign window. Season 1’s theme explicitly connects Ones to Watch, Destined for Glory, and Future Stars. Earn Ones to Watch Player Items through the Season Pass; select players also via SBCs and Objectives from Early Access.
Ones to Watch Item rules (Launch Update + Season 1 page)
- Items rated 83 OVR or higher retain Base Item Attributes; those below are boosted to 83.
- Every Ones to Watch Item is guaranteed at least 60 Pace and has all Role++ in Position.
- Items remain eligible for upgrades throughout the football season.
- +1 OVR for each Team of the Week, Star Performer, or Player of the Month inclusion.
- One-time +1 OVR if their club wins three of its next six domestic league matches after 18 September (Season 1 page: “Wins to Watch”; the OTW player does not have to feature in those matches for them to count).
- OTW Items upgrade +1 OVR at a time and do not necessarily match the stats of their highest-rated TOTW, POTM, or Star Performer version.
- Upgrades are limited to performance in the 2026/27 domestic season.
Ones to Watch transfer / loan FAQ (Season 1 page only)
- If an OTW player transfers or goes on loan, the OTW Item keeps the player’s latest upgrade until the player receives an upgrade at the new club; then the Item updates to the new club’s latest boosted Item.
- If a player transfers before receiving the Wins to Watch upgrade, they are no longer eligible for that bonus.
- If a player is no longer in the squad of the club their Item was released for and does not join a new club, they are no longer eligible for future additional upgrades, including Wins to Watch.
Those transfer rules are published for Ones to Watch. EA does not reprint an equivalent Destined for Glory transfer FAQ on the Pitch Notes pages used for this Campaign beat.
Season 1 Ladder highlights that touch the same Season
The Season 1 page says Standard and Premium Ladders include up to 13 Ones to Watch Player Items, plus retro Ones to Watch Item Shells, PlayStyle-based Evolutions, and more.
Standard Ladder (named): Arsenal’s summer transfer Christos Tzolis and Real Madrid midfielder Elisa Senß at Level 10; ends with Ferran Torres at Level 30.
Premium Pass (named): London City Lionesses’ Nicole Anyomi and Chelsea defender Maxence Lacroix at Level 7; ends with Real Madrid signing Yan Diomandé at Level 30.
Ones We Watched and TOTW alignment (Season calendar texture)
Season 1 opens with a Single Player Live Event series celebrating Ones to Watch from FUT 18, FUT 19, and FUT 20 — selectable opening difficulty, then progressively higher-OVR AI squads and tougher squad-building requirements. Retro Cosmetic Evolutions inspired by those years sit on the Season Ladder and Evolution Store. An Ones to Watch Online Exhibition rewards Chemistry Styles, Packs, and a Ones to Watch player, with additional rewards for weekly plays through Season 1.
EA is also adjusting the Team of the Week upgrade path for Season 1 so TOTW is aligned with Ones to Watch at launch, with further updates planned through FC 27.
Gallery Set that literally combines the two rarities
At Worldwide Launch, the first post-launch Gallery Set is the Season 1 (Combined Rarities) Set, bringing together Ones to Watch, Destined for Glory, and Future Stars Player Items. Gallery Sets remain live for the duration of the game; eligible Items already in Gallery history can count toward a Set even after they leave the Club.
Community voting — how the squad was shaped
Voting for Destined for Glory is closed for this Campaign launch, but EA’s published rules still explain why these five names are on the page.

- Voting: 9am PT on 21 August through 8am PT on 10 September.
- Open to everyone.
- Every player in the Ratings Database was eligible.
- No vote limit — vote for as many players as you believe will define the season.
- Community votes help shape the final Destined for Glory Squad alongside EA’s selection process.
- “Define the season” language from EA: breakout candidates, immediate impact at a new club, team leaders, or biggest stars.

FC 26 Ultimate Rewind Player Picks (parallel vote path)
During FC 26’s Ultimate Rewind (Pitch Notes dated 14 August 2026), EA also ran Destined for Glory voting inside FC 26: 1 of 2 Player Picks released in batches, each centred on a prediction — which player will score more goals, provide more assists, or keep more clean sheets. That page pointed players at the Ratings Database as well and stated that featured Destined for Glory Items would receive Live upgrades based on real-world performances.
Separate Season 1 system: TOTW Community Player
Not the Destined for Glory vote, but live on the same Season calendar: during Season 1 the community helps shape one player item in each of the first six Team of the Week squads. Voting opened 14 September; every player in the FC 27 Ratings Database is eligible; a new period starts each Tuesday; one vote per week, changeable until Monday 11:59pm PT; EA Account login confirms the vote; the selected Item carries a Community Player marker. It is listed here because readers will see “community vote” language on two different Season 1 surfaces.
Early Access context the Campaign inherits
Ultimate or Ultimate+ Edition Early Access runs from 18 September (PC Ultimate / EA Play Pro from 17 September, 23:00 UTC). During Early Access EA lists Team of the Week 1 & 2, Ones to Watch themed Player SBCs, Challenge and Upgrade SBCs, Evolutions, Squad Foundations, and Season Points opportunities. Destined for Glory is explicitly the first Campaign after that Early Access block.
The Season 1 page adds Early Access-only texture that is not Destined for Glory content but sits on the same Season 1 runway: Debut International ICONs for Ultimate / Ultimate Plus pre-orders (later upgrading into Champion International ICON versions during Black Friday), A.F.C.
