CONTROL Resonant, Remedy Entertainment’s sequel to the multi-award-winning CONTROL, launches worldwide on 24 September 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Remedy’s June announcement also confirmed day-one GeForce NOW support, with a Mac version via Steam and the App Store due later in 2026. Digital and physical pre-orders opened with that June reveal; the worldwide launch line is 24 September.

Primary source: CONTROL Resonant Launches Worldwide on September 24 (Remedy, 2 June 2026). That post tied the date to a new Story Trailer and pointed readers to pre-orders, editions, and bonuses. Remedy’s game page repeats the same day-one platform set, the later Mac window, and the Annapurna Pictures co-finance / co-produce partnership.

What the Story Trailer pitch says

Remedy’s June post centers the Story Trailer on Dylan Faden. In the studio’s words:

  • A new form of resonance, alongside the Hiss and the Mold, is warping Manhattan.
  • A mysterious cosmic force is reshaping reality.
  • Dylan’s sister, Jesse Faden, is missing.
  • Dylan must step into a role Remedy describes as “humanity’s last line of defense” — one he “was never prepared for.”

Steam’s Remedy-published About blurb expands the same frame: after years confined by the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC), Dylan enters Manhattan at the peak of the crisis; Director Jesse Faden’s lockdown is failing, paranatural threats have spilled beyond the Oldest House, and Dylan’s path includes seeking Jesse while containing what got out. That is studio storefront copy, not a Softcap play report.

Editions and Steam pricing

On the Steam store page (developer/publisher: Remedy Entertainment), two purchase options are listed in USD:

EditionSteam list price (USD)Contents (per Steam)
CONTROL Resonant$59.99Main game
Digital Deluxe Edition$69.99Main game; Digital Artbook; Original Soundtrack; Untapped Artifact (Wallet); Starter Resource Bundle; AWE Mission Outfit

Console storefront SKUs and physical retail contents are not inventoried the same way on Remedy’s June primary; this piece does not invent parity with Steam’s six-line Deluxe list. Remedy said digital and physical pre-orders were available in June — there is no separate Remedy-posted physical street date in that primary beyond the worldwide 24 September launch line.

PC requirements (Steam)

Both Steam tiers note an SSD required. Steam’s system table:

How Remedy has described systems

These are studio claims from Remedy’s own follow-ups — not Softcap play notes.

Structure. Remedy’s 13 February 2026 gameplay post showed PlayStation 5 Pro footage of Dylan hunting a Resonant enemy in the West Incursion Zone. Remedy describes large, distinct, expansive zones with side activities, hidden encounters, and optional discoveries. Lead Gameplay Designer Sergey Mohov’s PlayStation Blog rundown (the post Remedy links) states Resonant is not an open-world game, while those zones still leave room to explore around a strong central narrative.

Traversal. Mohov describes supernatural tools such as Reach, plus Shift for Gravity Anomalies — spaces where gravity and orientation flip so walls or ceilings can become walkable ground once Dylan adapts.

Combat. Dylan’s signature weapon is the Aberrant, a shapeshifting melee arm. Mohov’s revealed forms include Hammer, Blades, Scythe, and Fists, with more unrevealed. Steam’s About text matches the hammer-to-dual-blades fantasy and pairs it with elemental abilities and environmental combat. Progression, per Mohov, expands Aberrant forms, supernatural abilities, and combos into pre-fight loadouts.

Resonants. Boss-class enemies called Resonants — remnants of powerful people corrupted by the reality threat — are the main route to new combat abilities when defeated. Mohov explicitly ties the title to that loop.

New character. Mohov introduces Zoe De Vera, an FBC field agent who acts as Dylan’s handler and a story foil about holding onto humanity in a supernatural crisis.

Reveal framing. Remedy’s December 2025 reveal positioned Resonant as both sequel and new entry point: open-ended action-adventure RPG, Dylan deployed by the FBC, Aberrant in hand, search for Director Jesse Faden, co-financed and co-produced with Annapurna Pictures.

PC tech: path tracing and DLSS 4.5

NVIDIA has published live article bodies confirming PC tech for launch day. Per NVIDIA’s 21 September 2026 GeForce post (and the earlier 9 June 2026 rundown):

  • Path-traced lighting at launch, with NVIDIA framing Ray Tracing Preset: Ultra as the in-game path-tracing path.
  • DLSS 4.5 suite: Super Resolution, Ray Reconstruction, and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation.
  • Enabling path tracing / Ultra RT preset automatically activates DLSS Ray Reconstruction on GeForce RTX GPUs, per NVIDIA.
  • Day-one path also covers GeForce NOW cloud play for members who sync a supported PC library.
  • NVIDIA lists a CONTROL Resonant GeForce RTX 50 Series hardware bundle window through 29 September 2026, and a matching GeForce Game Ready Driver — retailer and redemption terms sit on NVIDIA’s pages.

Those are NVIDIA marketing claims with performance figures NVIDIA published for RTX 50-series cards; this piece does not restate Softcap benchmarks or invent AMD / Intel upscaler parity.

Who it hits

  • CONTROL veterans — Dylan-led sequel, Hiss/Mold continuity, Oldest House lockdown failing into Manhattan streets.
  • Newcomers — Remedy marketed it as a fresh entry point; that framing is studio marketing, not a Softcap play verification.
  • Platform buyers today — PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Epic, GeForce NOW; Mac later in 2026.
  • Deluxe shoppers on Steam — $10 USD upcharge for artbook, soundtrack, Untapped Artifact (Wallet), Starter Resource Bundle, and AWE Mission Outfit.
  • RTX PC players — path tracing + DLSS 4.5 stack as published by NVIDIA for launch day.

What is not claimed here
