Warframe Update 44 Iceblade of Narin: Yuvan’s Peak hub, Narin farm loop, Riven Trait Locking

Digital Extremes released Warframe Update 44: Iceblade of Narin on 23 September 2026, live on all platforms. The systems players will actually chase are below — the new Earth hub, Narin’s acquisition loop, Riven Trait Locking, Citrine Prime Access, and the free Banshee rework login — not the full bugfix laundry list.

Yuvan’s Peak and the Melica farm

Update 44 returns Tenno to Yuvan’s Peak — the Earth summit from early Void-power beats — now iced over as a unique hub. Cephalon Melica is stationed there (also reachable via Chrysalith Fast Travel) to contain Entropy seeping into the Zariman.

The published acquisition path for Narin and her signatures:

1. Run Zariman missions.
2. Kill Entropic Eximus (higher spawn rate than other Eximus; also appear around Void Angels). notes read: slip inside their shield bubble to damage them.
3. Collect Entropic Kuva (only from those Eximus).
4. Trade Entropic Kuva at Melica for Narin / Nunchasa / Aksondol main + component blueprints (plus cosmetics, Captura, limited weekly Kuva, and more).
5. Alternate: farm Narin parts from Zariman drop tables, or buy from the Market / Narin Bundle.

Narin’s kit (per official notes): Passive Sangodae (Cold Status stacks raise Cold ammo pickup chance); Neote (Helminth-able ice-rapier lunge); Naraemagi (absorb Cold Status → Shields / Overguard); Hakchum (leap / land Cold vulnerability); Nurinarim (full Ice sword-dance ultimate). reports the published kit — does not invent Helminth rankings.

Rivens: Trait Locking now, Splicing later

Trait Locking is live with Update 44. In the Mod Segment Cycle Riven UI you can lock one trait at a time for free; remove/re-add locks freely. While a trait is locked, cycling costs double Kuva. Locks do not persist after you close the menu — re-lock each session. Locking also freezes trait count (e.g. 3+/1− stays 3+/1− while locked).

Riven Splicing is not live. It launches with Glacial Defiance (new 6-player mode, release window sometime before or on 15 October per Digital Extremes PSA). Riven Splicers drop from that mode.

Citrine Prime Access and vault

Citrine Prime Access is live with Steflos Prime, Corufell Prime, and Prime accessories. With that rotation, Xaku Prime, Quassus Prime, and Trumna Prime move to the Prime Vault (existing Relics remain in inventory).

Banshee rework + free login

Banshee receives a full ability rework aimed at kit synergy and QoL (one-handed Sonic Boom with armor strip baked in, Sonar Weak Spots now Weak Points, Silence recastable, Sound Quake no longer channelled — Resonating Quake becomes channelled Gaseous Quake). points players to the dedicated rework section in the patch notes rather than reprinting every frame.

Free login reward: log in from 23 Sep @ 11:30 AM ET through 7 Oct @ 11:59 PM ET to claim Banshee + one built Forma. After the Banshee inbox expires, Forma can still be claimed on login through 31 December 2026 if the Banshee inbox was never received.

What’s coming (not in this build)

Digital Extremes explicitly staged these after Iceblade of Narin:

• Glacial Defiance — new 6-player missions from Yuvan’s Peak (window before/on Oct 15; see DE PSA).
• Riven Splicing — ships with Glacial Defiance.
• Epoch Operation: Taubound — begins 15 October; Digital Extremes frames it as prep for Tau. does not treat Taubound as live content today.

Why it matters

Update 44 is a mainline — hub + new Warframe farm loop + live Riven QoL + Prime rotation + a free reworked Banshee — not a hotfix sheet. wedge is the systems map: how you reach Yuvan’s Peak, how Entropic Kuva turns into Narin, what Rivens can do today, and what still waits on Glacial Defiance / Taubound.
