Iron Gate’s post-1.0 maintenance line for Valheim is live through Patch 1.0.15. Softcap’s follow-up desk piece sticks to the studio’s 18 September 2026 patch post and the mirrored Steam Community Announcement. Softcap is not inventing mould drop percentages beyond Iron Gate’s published “both types drop both moulds” line, Writhan spawn tables Softcap has not measured, or a cheated-item fix date the studio has not dated.

Primary spine: the terrain duplication performance fix and seam workaround, the Deep North armour mould drop retune, the Writhan spawn bump, the dev-bypass item mark/name/stack cleanup, and the still-open cheated-mark / item-stand level notes Softcap can cite as Confirmed player guidance.

Terrain duplication and the seam workaround

Iron Gate’s lead paragraph frames 1.0.15 as a small patch aimed at players who hit duplicated terrains and the performance hit that followed. Softcap’s Confirmed read from the post: the duplication path is closed.

Affected worlds may still show visual seams. Studio guidance Softcap is treating as Confirmed:

  • Deform the terrain along the seam, or
  • Walk in the snow there so the seam disappears

Previously those seams reappeared after reloading the area. After 1.0.15, Iron Gate says the seams persist correctly — Softcap’s read: once you clear a seam, it should stay clear across reloads rather than regenerating the glitch look.

Softcap is not inventing which biomes were worst-hit or a repair tool Softcap cannot cite from the notes.

Deep North armour moulds and Writhan

Two Deep North systems beats Softcap is flagging for endgame crafters:

  • Armour moulds — drop chance for Deep North armour moulds is increased by making both Jotun Warrior types drop both medium and heavy armour moulds
  • Writhan — spawn rate and spawn areas increased

Softcap is not inventing which Warrior subtype previously gated which mould, or Writhan HP / loot Softcap has not measured. The Confirmed sheet is a sourcing and density pass, not a new creature drop.

Dev-bypass marks, cheated tags, and item-stand history

Dev-bypass characters: items touched by dev commands will no longer be marked for characters that enabled the dev bypass command. Naming is updated, and those items can stack together again. Softcap’s Confirmed read: this is a bypass-character hygiene pass, not a blanket wipe of every cheated flag in the wild.

Incorrect cheated marks (still open): Iron Gate says a fix is planned, but it must ship simultaneously on all platforms so crossplay does not break. The studio’s published guidance Softcap is citing: keep playing normally with those items — they will be fixed in an upcoming patch. Softcap is not dating that follow-up.

Lost levels on item / armour stands (context from 1.0.12): Iron Gate restates that levels and variants on items left on item stands or armour stands were lost during the 1.0 save-format conversion — data Softcap is treating as Confirmed-lost in that conversion path, and an issue the studio says was not caught in 1.0 testing. That conversion bug was fixed in Patch 1.0.12, so worlds converted from then on convert correctly.

Workarounds Softcap can still cite for players already hit:

  1. Revert to the backup made when the world first loaded the new save format — all post-conversion world progress is lost with this method
  2. Or copy that backup, enter the backed-up world, move affected items onto the character, return to the main world, and replace the broken items

Iron Gate points players who need help to the support channel on Discord. Softcap is not inventing a third recovery tool.

Platform rollout and Softcap’s read

Iron Gate notes internal restrictions mean the patch will take a few days to reach all platforms. Crossplay remains functional in the meantime — Softcap’s Confirmed read: keep playing mixed-platform parties while console / other storefront builds catch up.

Softcap’s read of 1.0.15 as a desk follow-up to the 1.0 / Deep North piece: this is a stability and Deep North sourcing scrub, not a content drop. Terrain duplication is the headline performance fix; armour moulds and Writhan are the systems beats that change how Deep North farms feel; cheated marks and stand-level history stay as published player-comms rather than closed tickets Softcap can date.

Primary sources Softcap used: Patch 1.0.15 on valheim.com, the Steam mirror, plus context from the 1.0 launch notes and 1.0 FAQ. Softcap is not inventing concurrent charts or a next-patch calendar Softcap cannot cite.
