Palworld 1.0.4 explained: Beyond Dimensions, Ancient Bark, and the 1.0.5 texture hotfix
Pocketpair’s post-1.0 maintenance line for Palworld is live through v1.0.5. Softcap’s first Palworld desk piece sticks to the studio’s v1.0.4 Steam announcement (7 September 2026) and the follow-up v1.0.5 bug-fix sheet (15 September). Softcap is not inventing Pal HP, drop rates beyond Pocketpair’s published lines, or concurrent charts.
Primary spine: the twin sub-missions Beyond Dimensions and From the Far Side of the Moon, the Ancient Bark Work Suitability drop, fishing / battle / base QA, UI defaults (including the 120 FPS PC cap), and the 1.0.5 texture + map-filter cleanup Softcap can cite as the current Steam-live build.

Beyond Dimensions and From the Far Side of the Moon
v1.0.4’s only new mission block is two linked sub-missions:
- Beyond Dimensions — accepted from an NPC at Fisherman’s Point in Mount Obsidian
- From the Far Side of the Moon — progresses only after clearing Beyond Dimensions
Pocketpair does not publish full quest-step spoilers in the Steam notes Softcap is using. Softcap’s Confirmed read: this is a Mount Obsidian chain, not a new region drop, and the second title is gated on finishing the first.
Pals, skills, and Ancient Bark
The Pals and Skills block is a priority-and-behavior pass rather than a creature roster expansion:
- Summoned Pals and Base Pals prioritize skills expected to deal higher damage
- Base Pal charging-type skill behavior adjusted
- Mission target Pals and NPCs no longer fall asleep
- Lapure swimming speed adjusted
- Homing enhancement from Lunaris Effigies adjusted
- Work Suitability required to gather Ancient Bark dropped to Lv. 1
That last line is the systems beat Softcap is flagging for base managers: Ancient Bark is no longer gated behind a high Work Suitability stack.
Battle, fishing, and items
Battle notes Softcap can cite:
- Power Bomb minimum use distance changed to reduce unnatural repeated backsteps
- Summoned Pal backstep behavior adjusted for some skills
- Core Eject damage on the Core Eject Shotgun adjusted
Fishing gets a Sunreach / World Tree area difficulty pass, bait payout retunes, clearer control / warning / recommended-equipment UI, and a new World Setting: Fish Behavior During Fishing Minigames.
Items and Rewards:
- Echoing Flute can now be dropped from inventory
- Pal Critic in Sakurajima now wants Dogen (was Selyne)
- Pal Critic in Sunreach now wants Faleris Aqua (was Bastigor)
Bases, servers, UI, performance
Base and server QA Softcap is treating as Confirmed:
- Cancelled production work returns materials to inventory
- Weight-limit option respected when canceling construction / dismantling
- New no-build zones (when restrictions are on) around desert Field Boss Suzaku, the desert Main Mission cave, and some Sakurajima mission sites
- Players, summoned Pals, and Base Pals no longer catch fire from player-built Campfires
- Admin per-player building limit server setting added
UI / controls:
- Palpedia name search
- Work Suitability detail text on Pal status and Palpedia UI
- Bounty Token notifications show passive / item text
- PS5 chat from the Radial Menu
- Default PC FPS cap 120
- Version-mismatch errors print the target’s version
Performance lines call out reduced rendering / foliage / effect load, less stutter on some Passive Skills, and lighter field rendering in the World Tree area.
Major fixes Softcap is highlighting
v1.0.4’s Major Bug Fixes list is long. Softcap’s abbreviated Confirmed picks for players still stuck:
| Area | Fix Softcap cites |
|---|---|
| Main Mission | World Tree Guardian could fail to appear later if Panthalus was beaten early |
| Early craft mission | “Crafting an Axe and a Pickaxe” could stall if you already owned the tools |
| Passives | Killamari Primo Lv.2/Lv.3 reversed; Lucky defense; Mercy Hit while riding; Grintale mutated eggs; Idiosyncratic mutation |
| Co-op | Joiners not correctly joining host guild; host mission advancing when a client entered a progression area |
| World Tree boss | Missing warning indicators on certain attacks |
| Watchtower fog | Re-accessing an unlocked Watchtower now unlocks remaining local map fog |
Softcap is not reprinting every Paint Mode / roof / shop-sale line — Pocketpair’s Steam post remains the exhaustive sheet.
v1.0.5 — texture and map-filter cleanup
Eight days later, v1.0.5 ships two fixes and nothing else Softcap can cite:
- Terrain, building, and other textures that could load at significantly reduced resolution for some players
- Some map icon filters unintentionally turning off after respawn
No balance lines. No new missions. Softcap’s read: install if blurry world geometry or vanishing map filters have been eating your session; otherwise 1.0.4’s content spine is unchanged.
What Softcap is not claiming
- Softcap is not inventing Beyond Dimensions step lists, boss HP, or bait percentage tables beyond Pocketpair’s published wording
- Softcap is not treating outlet build numbers (e.g. console 1.102.999) as a second Confirmed primary equal to Steam’s version labels
- Softcap is not shipping Amazon store links for this digital title — play path is Steam / Pocketpair / platform storefronts
