RuneScape Dragonwilds 1.0.0.5: Friday hotfix targets 3+ multiplayer joins, Scorned Raid AI, save mitigations
Wednesday, 23 September 2026, Jagex published the targeting notes for RuneScape: Dragonwilds hotfix 1.0.0.5, aiming the build at Friday — with console storefront verification expected to take several days after that PC-facing window. Softcap’s first Dragonwilds desk pass is this Confirmed hotfix: the 3+ player multiplayer join break, Scorned Wilderness Raid AI and respawn skips, the temporary Edit Appearance removal while save corruption is investigated, and the QoL lines (DLSS/FSR, Abyssal Whip recipe, Divine Rocks) landing with it.
Primary sources: 1.0.0.5 patch notes (Mod Doom, 23 Sep), 1.0 launch notes (15 Sep), Jagex console-launch press, RuneScape newsroom 1.0 post.

Context: Softcap’s first Dragonwilds beat
Dragonwilds left Early Access on 15 September 2026 as Jagex’s first RuneScape title on consoles — PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, plus PC on Steam, Epic Games Store, and the Jagex Launcher. Jagex’s launch press puts more than 1.5 million Early Access copies sold over ~18 months, day-one Xbox Game Pass (Premium / Ultimate / PC) and PlayStation Plus (Extra / Premium), and the Scorned Wilderness major update concluding the opening Kuldra Saga.
That is the floor Softcap is writing against. 1.0.0.5 is not a content drop — it is the Confirmed mid-week polish pass for a nine-day-old multiplatform 1.0.
What 1.0.0.5 is trying to fix on Friday
Mod Doom’s notes are explicit about sequencing: share the list before the build so Switch 2 players are not blindsided by another crossplay-dark weekend while consoles verify. Softcap groups the Confirmed lines by what players actually hit.
Multiplayer and dedicated servers
- Users no longer fail to connect to multiplayer servers with more than 2 players present — including the Xbox case where a third client could not join once two were already in the world
- Joining a modded Dedicated Server from consoles no longer corrupts a player save
- Dedicated Server owners can edit dedicated server worlds on consoles again
- Sworn Servant can be cast in Multiplayer / Dedicated Servers
- Steam “Self-hosted Server” button routes to hosting Tools
- Server search bar gains a tooltip that search is case sensitive
- PS5 crash when creating a crossplay world with a password in certain instances is resolved
- Xbox players with conflicting Privacy and Safety settings get notified when those settings block going online
Scorned Wilderness Raid
- Raid AI respawns as intended when starting the second Scorned Wilderness Raid attempt
- Dying in the Raid no longer skips a respawn point
- Summon Shelter can be used in the Scorned Wilderness hub
Progression, crafting, and presentation
- Abyssal Whip recipe unlocks for users with existing character saves as intended
- Primordial Hearts, Imbued Granite Maul Heads, and Chinchompa Skulls can be destroyed or stored
- Luminite ore can be crafted into Divine Rocks
- DLSS and FSR upscaling appear in Video Settings for Windows / Xbox Game Pass builds
- HUD Scale options are correctly labelled on Steam
- Controller: Processing Stations highlight the button under the cursor
- Switch 2 Video Capture works as intended
Softcap is not inventing drop rates, whip DPS, or Divine Rock cooldowns beyond the published crafting unlock line.
Save corruption: still investigating, appearance editor paused
The notes open on the painful topic: Jagex is still investigating world and character save corruption, testing methods that will “hopefully” restore missing saves, and needs longer on recovery options.
Mitigation Confirmed in 1.0.0.5’s targeting post:
- The Edit Appearance button is removed until the issue is resolved — called out as the most common cause still creating new victims
- Some restored saves have reset world settings to default, so Custom / Creative worlds may have been reverted to Normal and may sit in Normal save lists
Softcap is not claiming a restore ETA, a percentage of affected saves, or that Friday’s build fully recovers missing worlds — the desk’s Confirmed framing is mitigate + investigate, recovery still TBD.
What’s explicitly not in Friday’s build
Jagex parked two items for 1.0.1:
- Disconnect from internet / wifi, then select Play Online → crash (fix targeted in 1.0.1)
- Keybinds that can currently be rebound but should not be remappable — those reset to defaults in 1.0.1
Roadmap color from the same post (not a patch changelog):
- Next weekend at RuneFest — more detailed roadmap
- More on 1.0.1 and October’s update “very soon”
- Winter major update Luminance was already Confirmed at 1.0 launch (new building kit and more); 2027 roadmap was flagged for RuneFest in Jagex’s 15 Sep press
Why it matters
Nine days after a franchise-first console launch, the playable flag is not a new region — it is whether four-player sessions, Xbox joins, and Scorned Raid attempts stabilize while Jagex keeps save recovery in the lab. Softcap’s Confirmed takeaway: Friday’s 1.0.0.5 target is a systems hotfix with an early-published list so Switch 2 crossplay does not eat another weekend; appearance editing is paused on purpose; full save restoration and the wifi crash remain 1.0.1+ problems.
What to watch next
Whether Friday’s PC window actually lights 1.0.0.5, how long console verification keeps platforms on different builds, any follow-up on missing-world recovery methods, and what RuneFest prints for 1.0.1, October, and the path into Luminance. Softcap will need a new Confirmed primary before revisiting this slug.
