Call of Duty Season 06 The Haunting: Black Ops 7 and Warzone systems, live since Sep 17
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Call of Duty: Warzone Season 06 — The Haunting — launched on Thursday, 17 September 2026 at 9 a.m. PT. Raven Software’s Warzone Season 06 patch notes, published 16 September, are the systems spine for this piece: Haunted Hollow, Giant Infected, win-streak camos, AFK alerts, Resurgence Ranked SR fees, new weapons, every printed Warzone damage row, loot economy changes, and bugfixes. Treyarch’s Black Ops 7 Season 06 notes cover Multiplayer, Zombies, and Endgame on the same season window. Activision’s PlayStation Blog overview and Support seasons hub back the roadmap framing. Softcap is not inventing TTK, meta tiers, or play impressions.
Raven’s notes open on two events that run across Multiplayer, Zombies, Endgame, and Warzone, then move into the Warzone map package. Treyarch’s companion notes add the Black Ops 7 map and mode list, Zombies round rewards, Endgame’s Avalon Night package, and a separate Ranked Play pass for BO7 Multiplayer. Softcap reports both desks’ published numbers. One timing split matters for loadout players: Warzone weapon tuning is already in the 16 September Raven notes. Treyarch states that Black Ops 7 Multiplayer weapon tuning arrives a short time after Season 06 launch, so the team can watch where the new weapons land first.
Events: Camo Costume Party and DOOM Event Pass
Camo Costume Party is Raven’s and Treyarch’s shared Camo Event for Season 06. Darkness leaves its mark, in Activision’s official copy: unlock the new Arcblade melee weapon and new camos by completing Weapon Class Camo Challenges in Multiplayer, Zombies, Endgame, and Warzone. The publishers flag that players should complete challenges from all four modes. Published camo rewards:
| Camo | Type |
|---|---|
| Oozed | Standard |
| Undergrowth | Standard |
| Gray Matter | Standard |
| Zombie Mai Tai | Standard |
| Patchwork | Standard |
| Gravebloom | Animated |
| Grubs | Animated |
| Malignant | Animated |
| Death Row | Animated |
Arcblade unlocks through this event.
DOOM Event Pass is the limited-time, in-season Event Pass. Official licensor framing only: fight back against the forces of Hell; unlock themed rewards including the Doom Slayer new Operator, Doom Guy Operator skins, and other DOOM-inspired rewards such as the Crucible Blade and DOOM Shotgun. Raven lists rewards including Doom Slayer, Doom Guy Operator Skin, and the Roc 20mm Special weapon. Activision Support publishes the free-track XP milestones and Premium Track separately (Support section below). The PlayStation Blog also names the Tracer Pack: Doom Demonic Essence Bundle for the Store alongside other Haunting-themed Bundles.
Warzone: Haunted Hollow
Something evil has taken hold of Haven’s Hollow. Raven describes a nighttime Resurgence variant with twisted locations — entangled River Boat, raging fire at the Lumbermill, Mansion gravity vortex — plus cosmic tentacles on the skyline and occult activity across the darkened landscape.
Ghost Train
A Ghost Train travels through Haunted Hollow. To get the goods, players must phase the train back into reality. Raven: use that window to reach Supply Boxes, a Buy Station, Mystery Box, and other resources before the train returns to its immaterial form. Keep an eye out as the train circles at the start of each match. Activating a train signal stops the train and phases it into reality, revealing a Mystery Box marked by a sky beam and a Tac Map icon. Interact to roll for powerful rewards, then claim the item before it disappears. Not happy with the result? Melee the item to reject it and spin again.
Trick or Treat Pumpkins
Shops around town leave festive pumpkins with a chance at valuable loot or a nasty trick. Rewards include powerups that grant short-term buffs similar to Perks when activated.
| Powerup | Published effect |
|---|---|
| Double Points | 2x multiplier on cash pickups |
| Full Armor | Instantly replaces all missing plates |
| Full Ammo | Instantly refills ammo reserves for all carried weapons |
| Loot Master | Extra items spawn when opening loot caches |
| Zarkour | Increases movement speed, buffs tac sprint, removes fall damage |
| Undead Sight | Outlines on friendly and enemy targets for enhanced threat perception |
Low Gravity Zone (Mansion)
Inside a Low Gravity Zone, players can soar farther and higher, take no fall damage, and leave visible trails while airborne, with unique visual effects highlighting the low-gravity environment. The pond has been drained, revealing ruins underneath; Raven also teases light coming from the mansion in the overview framing.
Giant Infected (Week 2 LTM)
Raven labels Giant Infected as a Limited-Time Mode for Week 2, on Haunted Hollow only. Sixty-four players drop in. Eight random players start as Infected; their goal is to infect every player. Survivors must construct a DNA Bomb capable of stopping the outbreak.
Survivors
- Collect DNA samples around the map to build a DNA Bomb.
- Every Survivor starts with a fixed Loadout that can be upgraded throughout the match.
- Earn score by surviving, defeating enemies, collecting DNA, and completing objectives.
- Collect enough DNA samples to begin the bomb sequence.
- Successfully detonate the DNA Bomb to win.
Infected
- Fall in battle and return as Infected with unlimited sprint, powerful melee attacks, rapid mantling, wall jumps, and no fall damage.
- Survive longer to unlock upgrades, including increased movement speed, more health, and a super jump.
- Eliminate Survivors and collect DNA to power up faster.
- Stop Survivors from gathering enough DNA to activate the DNA Bomb.
- If the DNA Bomb is activated, work with the horde to shut it down before it detonates.
- Hunt remaining Survivors and prevent them from stopping the outbreak.
Win-streak camos and Black Ops Royale’s last season
Raven updated Win Streak rewards for Season 06. Season 05 rewards are no longer obtainable.
| Playlist | Consecutive wins | Weapon camo |
|---|---|---|
| Battle Royale | 10 | Eye of the Storm |
| Battle Royale | 25 | Stormfront |
| Resurgence | 30 | Harvest Haunt |
| Resurgence | 50 | Neon Nightmare |
| Black Ops Royale | 10 | Crimson Omen |
| Black Ops Royale | 25 | Contagion |
Raven’s note on Black Ops Royale is absolute: Season 06 will be your last chance to play Black Ops Royale. Get those wins and earn the Weapon Camos before the end of Season 06.
AFK system adjustments
Players now see splashes on the top right of the screen when the game has detected inactivity. Teammates of AFK players also see a top-right alert when a teammate is detected inactive. Raven’s developer note: new AFK alerts and improved detection logic aim to give clearer feedback before a player is removed for inactivity, reduce confusion around AFK removals, and help target botting behavior that can bypass inactivity checks. Raven says it will continue monitoring and refining after launch.
Ranked Play Resurgence (Season 06)
Season 06 is a shorter Ranked season. Raven’s focus: increase competitive challenge within the Top 250 while preserving a path to the top that does not feel overly punishing. Ranked Play Resurgence follows the same schedule as Multiplayer Ranked: three weeks of normal Ranked play followed by one week of Ranked Series.
Raven is happy with the SR journey in Bronze through Platinum, but cites significant SR inflation in Diamond and above. Response: increase deployment fees in those top divisions, which reduces maximum SR earnable in a single match and may significantly compress the Top 250 leaderboard. SR amounts for Division breakpoints remain unchanged. All SR Challenges are disabled for Season 06 — Raven says players were holding them for a later-season cushion, and disabling them gives a clearer read on the underlying SR system.
Deployment fees (Diamond and above)

Ranked loadout sandbox expansion
These items are now unrestricted in Ranked loadouts:
Weapons: NX Ravager (Crossbow) — explosive crossbow bolt; M10 Breacher (pump shotgun) — Dragon’s Breath ammo remains restricted; Arrow 109 and A.R.C M1 (launchers).
Attachments: Solaris Holo-IR; M335-X Frag; M335-X Tempest; Mirage Tandem Launcher; M34 Novaline Garand conversion; M15 MOD 0 AMR .50 Cal Kit; XM325 Titan Wield; MK.78 Lightframe PDW Conversion Kit.
Lethals: Claymore.
One-hit-kill protection: Newly unrestricted items will not one-shot players — NX Ravager with Explosive ammo, M10 Breacher, Arrow 109, A.R.C M1, M335-X Frag, M335-X Tempest, Mirage Tandem Launcher, Claymore. Vehicles will no longer explode on one hit from launchers at full health. Raven reuses the existing one-shot protection system active on snipers in Ranked.
Top placement rewards (shortened season): Weapon blueprint at 5 top placements; Large Decal at 25 top placements.
Battle Royale and Resurgence gameplay systems
Supply Drones rework: Adjusted overall amount in the sky; now only hover above High Value Loot Zones; destroying Supply Drones causes more to spawn up to a per-circle limit; increased Legendary Crates per drone; reduced non-Legendary Crates; deploy during infil and stay active longer; fly more predictably and avoid low-altitude hovering; no longer spawn in the gas. Raven wants drones more intentional, predictable, and better-looted around HVLZs.
Quickdrop Kits: New loot splash displays cash earned when Quickdrop Kits are automatically converted.
Lootable Perks — Contract Rewards: Hunter, Tempered, Momentum, Shrouded.
Lootable Perks — Legendary Supply Boxes: Drill Instructor, Surveyor, Momentum, Shrouded.
Ground loot: Removed Utility Box; added Armor Box and Munitions Box. Removed Combat Axe; added Frag Grenade. Removed Flash Grenade; added Concussion Grenade.
High Value Loot Zones on Verdansk updated: Superstore, Hospital, Stadium.
Juggernaut Public Event: Disabled.
Cluster Strike: Added to Buy Stations for $4,000.
Killstreak warning: Incoming killstreak warning now alerts players regardless of height. Raven says improved logic for which players receive warnings; will continue monitoring.

Activision Support adds further Weekly Challenge attachment lines for the same season window (Jäger 45 Grid-Breaker Kit, M34 Novaline Garand Conversion, EAM IR-VIZ Thermal Reflex, M15 Mod 0 AMR .50 Cal Kit). Softcap reports those on Support’s list without inventing unlock schedules Support did not date beyond Weekly Challenge.
Warzone weapon adjustments (every Raven damage row)
Raven’s stated goal: shake up the AR and SMG meta by bringing down a few of the strongest performers and giving lesser-used options more room. AN-94 had a strong run; this pass brings it back in line while buffing low performers. Softcap prints Raven’s tables — no invented TTK.

Zombies weapon / systems notes (selected published)
Echo 12 Backlash Launcher Conversion Kit (Pack-a-Punched): reduced explosion radius and inner/outer explosion damage; clip 24 → 12; stock ammo 96 → 48; max ammo 120 → 60 — Treyarch says prior tunings made it trivialize standard gameplay including boss fights. AK-27 Battle-Scar Conversion Kit: critical damage +11%; reduced recoil. Additional Zombies bugfixes span Rex Infernus quests, Kowakujō, Paradox Junction, Astra Malorum, Ashes of the Damned, Cursed, Rogue Run, Directed Mode, GobbleGums, Perk-a-Colas, equipment, Field Upgrades, Support, enemies, challenges, UI, graphics, audio, and stability — Softcap covers the published categories in full in the Treyarch primary; the Wire above lists every named map/mode/reward beat and the Echo 12 / AK-27 numbered weapon changes.
Endgame: Avalon Night and Forbidden Summoning
Night descends on Avalon. Operators face Fears, Guild opponents, and other obstacles under cover of night.
Forbidden Summoning Event: Unlock the seals to free an ancient threat. Treyarch: this is the sole World Event for the first week of the Season, then it joins the pool of World Events that can appear per match. Completing it rewards a new Exotic Weapon: the Heatsync launcher. Softcap reports that reward name and unlock condition as published — no invented launcher stats.
Battle Pass, BlackCell, Weekly Challenges
PlayStation Blog: progress the Season 06 Battle Pass for Weapon Blueprints, Operator Skins, and more. BlackCell adds the new Revenant Operator and a Mastercraft Weapon Blueprint, both with extra unlockable variants via in-game challenges. Treyarch: Battle Pass featuring Blackjack. Softcap does not invent COD Points prices the BO7 Season 06 primaries did not print.
Weekly Challenges: Complete any six challenges across any or all of the four supported modes to unlock the weekly reward, including new Attachments and the “Pearl Mollusk” FG42 Assault Rifle Weapon Blueprint.
Prestige Title Challenges (Treyarch, final set): Global — Arsenal Incarnate (final Mastery Camo in all 4 modes for every weapon); Private Eye (all Intel in Co-Op, Endgame, Zombies); Over Achiever (all Mastery Badges); John Black Ops (all other Prestige Master Titles). Zombies — Primordial Being (each Main Quest with at least 18 Relics active).

Who this hits
Warzone Resurgence players on Haven’s Hollow get a full Haunting ruleset — Ghost Train economy, pumpkin powerup gambles, Mansion low-gravity fights — plus Week 2 Giant Infected’s 64-player DNA Bomb objective. Ranked Resurgence stacks in Diamond and above pay higher deployment fees for less max SR per match, with SR Challenges off for the season. Loadout players get VMP and TR51 Para through the Battle Pass, Arcblade through Camo Costume Party, and Roc 20mm through the DOOM Event Pass, with Raven’s full BR/Resurgence damage sheet already live. Black Ops 7 Multiplayer gets Quantum, Bloodstead, T.E.D.D. Trials, and later Hordepoint; Zombies players get Tenshu Survival, Rex Directed/Starting Room, expanded Rogue Run pedestals, and the Super Easter Egg Operator path. Endgame squads run Avalon Night with Forbidden Summoning as the week-one sole World Event. Black Ops Royale players have one season left to bank Crimson Omen and Contagion.
Why it matters
Season 06 is a Haunting content drop paired with a Ranked experiment: higher top-ladder fees, disabled SR Challenges, and a shortened calendar. Raven printed the Warzone damage math on 16 September; Treyarch held BO7 Multiplayer weapon tuning for a post-launch observation window. Softcap’s job is the patch math and unlock paths as the publishers wrote them — not hype adjectives, and not invented TTK.
