EA and Battlefield Studios shipped Season 4: Tidal Strike for Battlefield 6 on 15 September 2026, paired with client Game Update 1.4.3.0. Softcap’s first Battlefield 6 desk piece sticks to EA’s 1.4.3.0 update notes, the Tidal Strike event guide, and the studio’s post-launch 16 Sep / 18 Sep Steam status roundups. Softcap is not inventing Season 5 clocks, unpublished knife drop rates, or concurrent charts.

Primary spine: Deep Six Collection Event, REDSEC’s Phantom Program, Proximity Chat (shipped, then disabled per EA status), Portal / Custom Lobby expansions, and the vehicle / Interdictor / Tsuru Reef balance Softcap can cite from the 1.4.3.0 sheet.

Deep Six Collection Event

EA’s 1.4.3.0 sheet opens Tidal Strike with Deep Six, a Collection Event that Softcap cites as running 15 September through 12 October. Players earn exclusive rewards across Battlefield 6 and REDSEC by completing contracts and gathering intel devices — premium Weapon Packages, Customization Rewards, and the Royal Navy Dive Knife as the full-collection finale.

Softcap’s Confirmed tips from the event guide (not Softcap coaching fanfic): complete contracts regularly, squad up on objectives, watch for intel devices in both Battlefield 6 and REDSEC, and diversify playlists for additional event challenges.

Date note Softcap is flagging in the open: the parallel event guide also prints a 29 September end line for Deep Six. Softcap’s Confirmed collection window for this explainer is the 12 October close on the 1.4.3.0 technical primary Softcap is using for the live build. Softcap is not reconciling which clock wins beyond citing both EA pages.

Phantom Program and Fort Lyndon

Also live with Tidal Strike: Phantom Program, a limited-time REDSEC operation. Softcap’s Confirmed pitch from EA: hunt hidden intelligence and easter eggs across Fort Lyndon, chase access-code fragments, and dig into the larger mystery of the Fort Lyndon security-network breach. Rewards Softcap can cite include XP and Weapon Packages.

Event-guide tips Softcap is treating as Confirmed: stay close to your squad, explore areas you might normally skip, watch unmarked clues, and expect competing squads on the same objectives.

Proximity Chat — shipped, then disabled

1.4.3.0 introduced Proximity Chat for Battlefield Battle Royale / REDSEC testing: directional audio shaped by environment, walls, and vehicles; mute / report / block via EA Connect; up to four simultaneous speakers; Commo Rose channel swap; scoreboard recent-speakers list.

EA’s own 1.4.3.0 copy warned Softcap’s Confirmed caveat: during testing, Proximity Chat may be switched on or off. Softcap’s live status from the Steam roundups Softcap is citing:

  • 16 Sep: Proximity Chat disabled while EA investigated a related issue
  • 18 Sep (1.4.3.1 status): remains disabled through that weekend pending a re-enable update

Softcap is not inventing a re-enable clock past those Confirmed lines.

Vehicles, Interdictor, and Tsuru Reef

Major 1.4.3.0 systems Softcap is elevating from the changelog:

RCB90 Patrol Boat

  • Health 800 → 1000
  • Steering responsiveness improved
  • Deploy Ramp passive and haptic feedback fixes

AH-6 Little Bird

  • Minigun overheat per bullet ~+33% (overheats ~1.5s faster on continuous fire)
  • Minigun damage to RCB90 / ATPs −50%
  • Transport helicopters correctly take small-arms damage again

Interdictor

  • Minimum damage 62 → 80; limb damage matches chest
  • Sweet spot damage 150 → 100; sweet-spot range 120–160m
  • REDSEC armor damage set to 100 regardless of hit location / distance
  • Iron Sight attachment now 15 points

Developer comment Softcap is treating as Confirmed tone: the old “sweeter spot” was normalized for more predictable two-hit kills and better REDSEC plate counterplay.

Tsuru Reef Breakthrough got a sector pass Softcap can cite without inventing map art: more flanking / boat routes, RHIB adds, APC / light-transport swaps, Capture Point moves and expansions, and Sector 4 collapsing from two Capture Points to one expanded dock objective.

MANPAD note: SLM-93A and 9K38 Igla lose the lock-on directional indicator for air vehicles — Softcap’s Confirmed EA intent is making MANPADs a stronger deterrent with less instant retaliation on the launcher.

Portal, Custom Lobbies, and Top Gun

Tidal Strike expands Portal with Verified King of the Hill and Domination, plus Sandbox Ocean water functions, Wake Island in the SDK, and broader Custom Lobby mode hosting (Breakthrough, Rush, Escalation, Domination, TDM, and more). Softcap’s Confirmed caveat from EA: Spectator mode is not available at Tidal Strike launch for those newly hostable Custom Lobby modes.

Top Gun — Carrier Strike and Fighter Sweep — is extended through the end of Season 4. Carrier Strike also picks up out-of-bounds volumes Softcap cites as aimed at deck spawn camping, plus jet spawn rules once a carrier is breached.

REDSEC QoL Softcap is flagging

From the REDSEC block Softcap can cite without inventing BR meta:

  • Data Extraction download 15s → 5s
  • Ring of Fire correctly destroys vehicles / gadgets; Trackers consumed by the Ring count toward Evasion
  • Weapons Cache rewards higher-rarity weapons based on squad level at mission start
  • Ranked: pre-lobby leave-penalty grace 30s → 3 minutes; AFK kick system with warning; AFK report via EA Connect

What Softcap is watching next

Whether EA re-enables Proximity Chat with a dated status line Softcap can cite; whether 1.4.3.5 lands the PS5 thick-scope-border fix EA flagged in the 1.4.3.0 reticle notes; Interdictor Gauntlet damage Softcap cites as under investigation in the 18 Sep roundup; and the Season 5 handoff once Softcap has a Confirmed EA primary — Softcap is not inventing that calendar from Tidal Strike alone.
